What App Explains a Picture?
Have a photo but no useful words to search? Chance AI is one option: its developer lists photo and screenshot explanations, visible clues, and follow-up questions. Google Lens also supports visual questions alongside search and translation. Choose by the task; this guide does not establish an accuracy winner.

Start with the part you cannot name
A saved photo may show an unfamiliar lamp, a jacket detail, or an icon with no label. Asking only "What is this?" leaves several possible jobs. You may want a category name, an explanation of a detail, or the original page where the image appeared. Write down which answer would help before uploading it.

What the current Chance sources support
The official site positions Chance around questions about photos and screenshots. Its iOS listing connects that input to explanations and possible search words. The Android listing, updated August 31, emphasizes photo editing and style, while also describing image search and follow-up questions. The store descriptions differ, so this guide does not assume feature parity.
The lamp shown above is an official demonstration asset. It makes the intended interaction visible, but it does not prove that a fresh photo will produce the same answer. We have not run a comparable Chance-versus-Lens test for this update.
Try a question you can check
For the lamp, an example prompt is: "Describe the shade and base. Suggest two search phrases. Which detail would help confirm the model?" This is a proposed prompt, not a recorded Chance response. Compare suggested terms with a manufacturer or museum source before treating a product name or historical explanation as settled.
For a screenshot, hide names, account details, and private messages first. Ask the app to separate text it can read from conclusions it is drawing. Do not use an image answer alone for medical, legal, financial, identity, emergency, dangerous-object, or high-value appraisal decisions.
