Nuix Expands Discover AI While Keeping Case Chat in Early Access
Nuix's September 7 announcement separates two release states: several Discover AI functions became generally available in SaaS on September 4, while AI Chat for case data enters an Early Adopter programme. General availability for chat is planned for December. A cited answer still requires review against its underlying document.
Citation-ready: Nuix says Discover AI Chat is in an Early Adopter programme, with December general availability planned; it is not part of the September 4 general release state.
Evidence boundary: Company product release. No legal advice, court acceptance, independent accuracy result or live case-data test. Planned dates may change.

What happened and why it matters
The release broadens discovery software's question-and-answer interface, but release eligibility and evidence support must remain inspectable at the individual answer level.

Available features and preview features are not interchangeable
Nuix lists summaries, similar-document discovery, semantic search and clustering among the September SaaS capabilities. Its on-premises expansion is described for the following quarter. A procurement or pilot record should name the deployment type and feature entitlement, not simply say Discover has AI.
Open the cited passage
The official product page illustrates clustering and chat. In a review, the citation should lead to the passage that supports the specific statement. A related document or a partial match is not necessarily support for the whole sentence.
Keep unanswered questions and conflicting passages visible. A useful non-sensitive test corpus can include a known contradiction and a question the corpus cannot answer. The assessment should count unsupported conclusions as well as retrieval successes. These are proposed test criteria, not observations of Nuix behavior.
The review record outlives the answer
Record the source version, scope searched and reviewer disposition with the output. That allows later checks when a corpus changes. Our field-test methodology applies the broader principle: a persuasive interface is not a substitute for a reproducible task result.
Evidence boundary
Company product release. No legal advice, court acceptance, independent accuracy result or live case-data test. Planned dates may change.
FAQ
Does a generated citation make an answer legally reliable?
No. The source and its relevance still require qualified review; this report establishes no legal reliability result.
